The countertops, full-height backsplash, and waterfall peninsula are all crafted from Viola marble, a natural stone from one of Italy’s oldest quarries. This polished ¾” thick slab is a rich variation of Calacatta marble, featuring a creamy white base interwoven with deep red wine-hued veining. The bold contrast of colors makes a striking visual statement while maintaining a timeless elegance, seamlessly integrating into the modern kitchen design.
Having previously worked with us on their last apartment, the couple already strongly appreciated functional kitchen design. This time, they wanted a space that could adapt to their evolving needs, balancing everyday convenience with a refined aesthetic. Maximizing storage was a top priority, ensuring everything had its place without compromising the open, airy feel of the apartment. The result is a kitchen that fits their current lifestyle and will continue to serve them well in the years to come.

A Kitchen Designed for a New Chapter: Moving into a larger apartment in Manhattan was an exciting transition for this busy couple. As part of their whole-apartment renovation, they knew they wanted a Leicht kitchen—this was, in fact, the second kitchen we designed and installed for them. With an appreciation for modern European design and a focus on functionality, their vision was clear: maximize space, maintain a clean aesthetic, and ensure an efficient workflow.
Thoughtful Layout for Maximum Efficiency
One of the most significant changes in this remodel was the U-shaped kitchen layout, which was carefully planned to accommodate the couple’s appliance selections while keeping everything within easy reach. The goal was to create three primary landing zones, offering ample countertop space for prep, cooking, and cleanup. With a window inside the kitchen and another nearby, the space benefits from abundant natural light, making it feel open and airy.
A Unified Finish for a Seamless Look
This kitchen features a single finish throughout—Leicht’s F45 in 103 Merino, a supermatt laminate by Fenix known for its durability and soft-touch feel. To keep the aesthetic consistent, the cabinetry incorporates 817 integrated bar handles, powder-coated in the same Merino finish, ensuring a streamlined, cohesive look.
Illuminating the Space
Lighting plays a crucial role in both ambiance and functionality. LED lighting is integrated under the wall cabinets, providing focused illumination for food preparation. Additionally, to the right of the refrigerator, three open shelves each feature bottom LED lighting, subtly highlighting the space while offering a practical and stylish display area.

To complement the streamlined design, the kitchen is equipped with high-performance appliances:
24” Sub-Zero beverage center (integrated into a tall cabinet)
