In the vibrant community of Great Neck, NY, a large family embarked on a comprehensive renovation to transform their newly purchased home. Collaborating with their contractor and interior designers, we meticulously planned and executed their long-anticipated kitchen, creating a space that seamlessly blends traditional charm with modern functionality.
Abundant Natural Light and Architectural Elegance
This Leicht kitchen is bathed in natural light thanks to expansive windows and unique triangular architectural windows on the central wall, complementing the high, vaulted ceiling. Skylights enhance the brightness, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere, emphasizing the kitchen's open and airy feel. The 14-foot-high ceiling, with its striking triangular shape, adds a sense of grandeur to the space, making it both a focal point and a functional cooking area.
Spacious U-shaped kitchen layout with Functional Island cabinetry
Designed with a U-shaped layout, this kitchen features a large central island that serves as the hub of the space. Given the family’s kosher lifestyle, two sinks are strategically placed—one on the central wall, left of the range, and the other on the right wall, ensuring practicality and adherence to kosher requirements. The island includes a lower-level table extension made from the same countertop material, providing seating for six and fostering an inclusive, communal environment.
Classic and Modern Door Styles
The primary door program utilized in this kitchen is CARRE-FS, a beautifully crafted painted shaker door in a 120 Frosty White finish. With its ‘in-frame’ appearance, this design choice lends a timeless, classic look to the kitchen, seamlessly integrating with the home’s traditional elements. The secondary door program, TOPOS in 312h Walnut, is used for the refrigerator surrounds and front panels.
