In the serene neighborhood of Woodmere, NY, a large family embarked on a total gut renovation to transform their new home. With the collaboration of their contractor and interior designers, they brought their long-planned vision to life—a modern, functional Leicht kitchen tailored to meet their kosher lifestyle needs.

Collaborative Design Process

Our kitchen designer worked closely with the homeowners, their interior designer, and the contractor to create a space that balances beauty and practicality. The result is a harmonious blend of form and function, meticulously tailored to the family’s requirements.

Sleek and Elegant Cabinetry

This kitchen's primary cabinetry door program is BONDI, finished with super matte lacquer in 120 Frosty White. This finish is known for its pleasant surface feel and anti-fingerprint properties, making it ideal for the main wall’s base and upper cabinets and the oven/peninsula wall.

Complementing this, the secondary door program is SYNTHIA in 234 Highland Oak. This textured wood laminate is scratch-resistant and coated with melamine resin, ensuring beauty and durability. The Highland Oak finish is used for the tall cabinetry at both ends of the main wall and the island cabinetry, providing a warm, natural contrast to the sleek white BONDI finish.

Unique L-shaped layout with Central Island

Designed to accommodate a kosher lifestyle, the kitchen features an L-shaped layout with a large central island. It includes two separate sinks—one centered under the window and the other on the island. The 48" rangetop and hood are also centered on the main wall, with ample countertop space on either side, flanked by 48" wide tall cabinets that frame the main wall of the kitchen.

The 36" wide island offers accessible cabinetry from both sides. Instead of an overhang for seating, the island extends to a lower level at one end, creating a table for seating from both sides. The tabletop matches the countertop material, ensuring a cohesive look.

Integrated Appliances and Features

The wall oven and an additional pantry are placed on a separate wall, creating a U-shaped functionality within the L-shaped layout. Adjacent to the double wall oven, base cabinetry extends to form a peninsula with seating for four, effectively separating the dining room from the kitchen.

Enhanced Functionality with Integrated LED Lighting

Built-in, integrated LED lighting under all units ensures excellent task lighting. The 4" boxed soffit over the BONDI upper cabinets connects the 48" tall cabinetry on both ends of the rangetop wall, beautifully tying the entire main wall together.
